How to make a website?

Hiya,

Just wondering how you go about it, I would love a website like this, vbulletin, arcade and stuff.

For playing games and chatting abouts games and movie and entertainment.

Any help is greatfully appreciated.

Okey, I will explain all steps to make a vBulletin forum with arcade and other mods:

1. Get a Domain [$6-9/yr]:
-go to any domain registering company (for example GoDaddy.com)
-enter a domain name of your choice .com, .net, .biz...
-register that domain.

2. Get a Hosting Server [$3/mo]:
-go to any hosting company website (you can get from GoDaddy.com)
-choose Linux hosting, cuz most web scripts are php (Like vBulletin, Wordpress...)
-Setup the domain chosen on hosting server.
-login into your hosting account using a FTP software (ex. FileZilla) to make sure your have access to server.

3. Get the webscript [free-$160]:
-if you want vbulletin forums webscript (go to vBulletin.com), that will cost you $85-160, the file they will give you must be uploaded to your hosting account using FTP software, for more details read the manual they gave you.
-if you want phpbb forums software (go to phpBB.com), ITS FREE!, same thing, just upload files, read manual.
-if you want to make a blog, I recommend (WordPress), FREE!, installation manual included.

4. Promote your website [free]:
-submit it to search engines
-get backlinks
-exchange links...

DONE!

Its easy yeah!? [imagine you can own a website for $4/mo only!]

making a website is easy, but getting traffic is a big problem. by doing more promotion, you will get more traffic. more traffic gives you more revenue.

you can earn revenue from your site by putting other companies ads on your site (ex. AdSense).
